Our Mission

Hawaii Repertory Theatre was established to provide local audiences with relevant, challenging, and engaging theatre, as well as to provide local theatre professionals a forum where they can practice their craft.

By performing dramatic works from the traditional classical repertoire, as well as contemporary material from diverse cultures and traditions, Hawaii Repertory Theatre endeavors to stage world-class performances with the highest professional standards as a means to educate and entertain the people of Hawaii.



Our History

Incorporated in 2005, Hawaii Repertory Theatre is the realized dream of Brian Lee Sackett, the theatre's Founder and Producing Artistic Director. "We started as an after-school program for local youth (students of Kawananakoa Middle School) in the spring of 2002 and slowly expanded over the years to include the entire Roosevelt High School complex. And, as our following and resources continued to grow, we decided to venture into a direction we felt was lacking here in Hawaii."

Hawaii Repertory Theatre continues to stay connected to its educational roots through its ArtShare! program (which provides free tickets to local middle and high school students) and by donating its services as a production consultant to local school drama programs.

From classical to contemporary, Hawaii Repertory Theatre consistantly strives to provide Hawaii audiences with professional quality productions of great works of dramatic literature.
